U.S. President Barack Obama is relied upon to meet with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on Sept. 6, and arrangements to touch on human rights and in addition security concerns, the White House said on Monday.
"We totally expect that the president will raise worries about a portion of the late explanations from the president of the Philippines," White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told a media preparation when asked whether provocative comments by Duterte about ladies, columnists and others would be a subject of exchange.
Rhodes said, in any case, that there were critical security issues to cover too, especially pressures over route in the South China Sea. China has been enraged by a decision against its cases in the South China Sea by a universal court, a case started by Manila.
The normal meeting amongst Obama and Duterte would occur in Laos, where the two pioneers will go to a summit of pioneers from Pacific Rim countries.
